MCC CHAPEL - We would like to invite you to join us for chapel at Maritime Christian College on Wednesdays at 1 p.m.  This semester we will be working through the book of Exodus. Our speaker for this Wednesday, November 22nd will be Murray Spencer and we will be looking at Exodus Chapter 32.  Hope to see you there,

BLUE CHRISTMAS SERVICE:  There will be a Blue Christmas Service held at South Lake Christian Church on Friday, November 24th at 7 pm.  Everyone is invited to attend. If you would like to light a candle in memory of a loved one, please let Luanne Ching know by November 17th. You can also have a photo of your loved one placed on the screen during the candle-lighting ceremony. The photo can either be given to her or sent by email to luanne.ching@bellaliant.net. This is also a time of reflection for those who are going through a difficult time,not only with the loss of a loved one.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: On Friday, December 1st at 7 pm there will be a Christmas Concert held at South Lake Christian Church to support the Lions Club Christmas Boxes. There will be an open offering taken to help with this very worthwhile cause. Everyone is invited to attend. A Social time will follow.

CHRISTMAS CAROL SING: Fundraiser for Maritime Christian College will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3rd at 3 pm at the college. Joe Rowledge and Helen MacRae will lead us in song as we celebrate the advent season. Cider, hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Donation- Freewill offering.

Our next Monthly Women's Group will be on Tuesday, December 5th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the parlour at Kingsboro. We have cancelled our book study for December and instead will be hosting a social time with a movie. All women are invited to join us for an informal gathering. Also, a few of us will be decorating the church for Christmas on November 28th at 6 pm and anyone interested is encouraged to join us.

ANGEL TREE CHRISTMAS GIFT PROGRAM:  This is a chaplaincy program at SLeepy Hollow whereby we purchase and deliver Christian gifts for the children of inmates who will be incarcerated at Christmas Time.  If you would like to participate you may either donate some money to a fund for purchasing gifts, or actually receive the name of  child and purchase a gift yourself.  Please see Arie, or phone me at 902 687 1334.

The Kings United Pastoral Charge 8th Annual Dessert/Appetizer Party & Silent Auction is booked for Sunday, November 26th from 2 - 4 pm at the Fortune Community Center.  A most delicious and fun filled afternoon that is not to be missed. Please share and spread the word about the date to your family, friends and neighbours so they don't miss out on the mouthwatering morsels and the chance to get some Christmas shopping done at the silent auction. Admission is $5.  Take-out trays are available for $5 as well. Bidding for the silent auction closes at 3:45 pm.  We look forward to seeing you there.

The Joyful Sound under the direction of Christie Beck accompanied by Fran McBurnie will be performing their Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 10th at 2:30 pm at St. Mary's Church, Souris. A goodwill offering will be taken up.

Notice from Colville Manor:  Colville Maor in Souris would appreciate the donation of small gift items to help with the Christmas Season once again this year for their Residents.  There is no need to wrap items, but please include your name and address with your donation, so we can properly thank you. Please feel free to call Carol Anne Matheson or Dianne Holland 687-7104 and they can give you a list of suitable gift ideas.  We would appreciate receiving these donations on/before December 6th, as we will begin wrapping the next week. 
Anyone wising to provide entertainment for the residents during the month of December, please call the Activit Dept. at 687-7104 to book a suitable time. Any/all entertainers are welcome.
